Dana & Sarah Films Wins Award In IndieFEST Film Awards

Dana Richardson & Sarah Zentz, of Dana & Sarah Films, has won a prestigious Award of Merit from the IndieFEST Film Awards. The award was given for Dana & Sarah Film's powerful documentary, GOSHEN, which digs deep into the culture of the Tarahumara. GOSHEN features an exceptional cast including Christopher McDougall, author of Born to Run, and an exceptional soundtrack featuring music from amiina and Romayne Wheeler.

“We feel blessed in receiving this award and hope that the documentary will bring awareness to the challenges the Tarahumara are facing" says Richardson.

The IndieFEST Film Awards recognizes film, television, videography and new media professionals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, and those who produce standout entertainment or contribute to profound social change. In winning an IndieFEST Film Award, Dana & Sarah Films joins the ranks of other high-profile winners of this internationally respected award including Liam Neeson as the narrator of Love Thy Nature, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tom Hall for Generosity of Eye, searing expose Davids and Goliath by Leon Lee and European heavyweight Roland Joffee for The Lovers starring Josh Hartnett and Bollywood star Bipasha Basu.  Rick Prickett, who chairs The IndieFEST Film Awards, had this to say about the latest winners, “The IndieFEST is not an easy award to win. Running documentary Goshen screens in Asheville | Citizen Times

A new documentary, "GOSHEN: Places of Refuge for the Running People," will premiere in North Carolina at Asheville Pizza & Brewing on Thursday at 10 p.m.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Will Harlan, an Asheville local, author of "Untamed," owner of Barefoot Farm & Barefoot Seeds, and an ultra runner who is featured in GOSHEN. Part of the documentary was filmed at Will Harlan's Barefoot Farm in NC.

The Mexico International Film Festival and Awards has become an important awards event within the film industry and a centerpiece for promoting and growing the thriving arts and culture community of Mexico. Founded on the premise that the language of film is universal and a dynamic force in bridging cultural understanding, the event celebrates and recognizes the very best of international independent cinema from around the world.

Held annually each May, the Mexico International Film Festival and Awards is an extraordinary celebration of cinematic discovery and innovation. Each year we honor the best from around the world in various competition categories including Feature Films, Documentaries, Short Films, Foreign Films, Mexican Films, a short and feature length Screenplay Competition, Music Videos, Experimental Films, Television Pilots, Environmental Films, and more. In addition, Special Jury Prizes are awarded to several standout films and screenplays at the discretion of the Official Jury.

GOSHEN: Places of Refuge for the Running People is Winner of the Golden Palm Award for the Documentary Features Competition. GOSHEN was selected from among several hundred film and screenplays submitted from over 30 countries around the world.
